Dallas Favorites
I'm not paid by any of these folks nor do I get discounts - these are my true favs! These can
definitely change over time as our last sushi hangout went South and never recovered!
Catering:
The Gypsy Kit
Mortgage Loans:
Southwest Funding
Dining Establishments:
Nobu Sushi - 400 Crescent Court - So awesome!
Nana - Anatole Hotel - gggrreeeat!
Fin Sushi- Cedar Springs in Uptown - OMG, so awesome!
Craft Dallas - 2440 Victory Park Lane - American Contemporary
(Tom Colicchio's restaurant)
III Forks - 17776 Dallas Parkway
Ocean Prime - Cedar Springs and Pearl in uptown.
Limousine Service:
Superior One - I absolutely highly recommend Superior One for ALL of your limo needs! If you go to anybody else, you will be so sorry! Their limo fleet is top notch and their drivers are the BEST! Customer Service is unsurpassed!
Don't ever, ever drink and drive. Renting a limo is
cheaper than the consequences and can be quite fun too!
Facial Cosmetic Surgeon:
Facial: Dr. Benjamin Bassichis - he is a God!
Body Cosmetic Surgeon:
Body: Steven White - great doc!
Best Spa:
Bliss Spa at the W Hotel - Beautiful experience with massage,
facial but skip the nail salon - the manicurists, in my experience, were
not that professional in their mannerisms as far as conversations and
comments go. I don't want to hear about how hot my husband is by
the gross looking chick giving him a pedicure. Yeah, not going back!
Best Resort Style Spots:
Gaylord Texan - Love this place. Go there quite often for a quick
getaway. This place is absolutely extravagant during Christmas! The
Glass Cactus is a lot of fun as long as it is not Texas Tech weekend -
then you can't move in there.
Great Wolf Lodge- If you want an indoor water park for kids...this
is your place.
Best Hotels in Dallas:
Ritz Carton - unsurpassed in service. Rooms and superb and the overall experience is heaven. They have a Bentley service to take you anywhere you need to go in Dallas.
Crescent - another great place and you must try The Mansion dining experience while you are there.
I do have one hotel that I would like to report has HORRIBLE customer service in my limited experience and I will post it here at a later date - consider this post to be an 'anti' referral for this place.
Best Hangouts:
Havanna Social Club - 3030 Olive St., Dallas
The Glass Cactus - at the Gaylord Texan. They have fun bands
and two levels. Hit or miss whether it is crowded but the club is nice.
Ghostbar - Victory Park Lane (W Hotel), Dallas. It's small and can
be quite crowded but everybody should go at least once if you can get
over the Night at the Roxbury line at the bottom of the escalators. The
bouncers guarding the place have earphones and a clipboard with a
list. OMG, whatev.
Best Shopping:
The Galleria - 13350 Dallas Parkway. Dallas has the best
shopping per capita in the U.S. The Galleria is the absolute
best mall for many reasons. NorthPark Center is overrated - I am sure most of Dallas will disagree with me, however. I am simply 'Galleria Girl.'
Best for Entertainment:
Addison Improv - Check the calender and pick your favorite
comic. Good times!
Ticketmaster - Dallas has so many concert venues, ice skating
shows, etc. - you can take your pick. American Airlines Center is
awesome.
Dallas Cowboys - You've got to hit a game at the new stadium.
Even if you get a party pass, it's well worth it.
Medieval Times on Stemmons Freeway. You have to go at least
once!
